Bounty Hunters – 2nd drafts
Most of my creations are experiments to find out what the desired combination will indeed look like. Occasionally I go back and do a 2nd draft of a figure. The results are always impressive and vastly better than their first incarnation. I generally go back and redo the Bounty Hunter archetype first, as he is one of my favorites and often where each line starts
Mr. Cheezy Pop (Max Glick)
My daughter and I love to go through our YouTube subscriptions when she gets home from school. One of her absolute favorites is Max Glick / Mr. Cheezy Pop. He has a great Disney themed channel you can check it out HERE. I recently worked out an exchange with him as a surprise for her birthday. For my end I made him a custom Funko Pop style figure of himself. Here is the figure.
Here is a video where he talks about the figure.
Mythbusters Art Show
I was asked to create a piece for the Mythbusters Art Show by the great artist Chogrin to be displayed Creature Features in Burbank. I was a huge fan of the show. Here is the piece I created.
The show was featured on Nerdist here
Storyteller wraps production!
Recently I was lucky enough to serve as the Art Department Director/Production designer on an indie film called “The Storyteller”. It was a real pleasure and it was a great experience being able to push my artistic chops in such new directions. I made many movies over the years and done hundreds of pieces and props but it was very fulfilling to be in charge of a department and to create the entire look of a film. In addition to crafting the look of the film I also helped find locations and made a the bulk of the films props. I met some amazing people and learned so much. I will always cherish the experience. Here are a few photos from the set showcasing my contributions.
Celebration VI & VII pages added
In honor of the upcoming Celebration Europe (more like wishing I was there) I added some pages highlighting my involvement at Celebration VI & Celebration Anaheim / VII. I also added sub-pages showing my various panels and customizing classes.
Pages will be coming soon showcasing Celebrations II, III, IV, & V.
Action Figures of YOU!
A recent avenue I have been exploring is the creation of action figures of you and your family. For years I was hesitant to offer this service, as it is very difficult to capture the likeness of someone you are very familiar in a way that truly captures them. But recently partnered with the fine people at That’s My Face to create custom 3D printed heads to offer this great new addition. I go the extra mile to match create a character with a back story that relates to you. Click through to hear more about this new feature.
He Wars
I created a line that place the familiar archetypes in the Masters of the Universe realm as a commentary on the similarities the later owed to the former. Click to the He Wars page to see close up pictures of each character.
A Few Random Commissions…
I have had some stuff come up and I have not been able post recently. I have a few larger sets in the works. In the meantime I thought I would post some of the smaller random commissions I have take recently.
New Star Wars documentary featuring Sillof
I was selected by Morgan Spurlock’s production company Warrior Poets and Lucasfilm in 2015 to be featured in a series of short documentaries focusing on 20 Star Wars fans around the world. You can view the episode that looks at me, my works and process, and the impact Star Wars had on my life by downloading the Verizon Go90 app. The series is called “In A Galaxy”, my episode is called “Meet a DIY Toy Jedi”.
